DOUBLE OLYMPIC CHAMPION & SUPERMUM OF THREE HELEN GLOVER AIMS TO MAKE OLYMPIC HISTORY IN PARIS 2024 AGED 38

Helen Glover MBE has announced this morning her intentions to compete at her fourth Olympics next year in Paris 2024. Helen connected with so many mothers and families in 2021 with her honest documentary and journey to Tokyo becoming the first British mother to row for Team GB at an Olympics. Seeking to repeat the inspiration for mothers up and down the country as well as mothers in elite sport, Helen believes she can be faster than she’s ever been whilst breaking stigmas attributed to age and motherhood.

 

When asked what makes this journey different Helen commented: “I want to be an elite athlete and a mum, not an elite athlete despite being a mum. I want to be able to do the two absolutely to the same ability as everybody else, without my being a mum being seen as negative or leaving an asterisk beside my name. I want to be the very best and I truly think I can be better than ever.

I don’t think it should come down to just wanting to win an Olympics. It should come down to every single parent – mum and dad – feeling like there’s no guilt associated with wanting to be the best version of yourself”.
